Michiana's Paddlefest

South Bend’s Paddlefest is a canoe and kayak event held each year on the last Sunday in June. Paddlefest promotes family recreation on the river, canoe and kayak racing, and the health of Michiana’s greatest natural resource, the St. Joseph River. Events are geared for youth and recreational paddlers as well as serious racers. Explore our website for more information, or contact us at info@paddlefest.org.

Five different paddling (canoe or kayak) events!

Marathon

Seasoned racers can compete in the grueling 16 mile Marathon.
Both K-1 and C-1 Marathon (Men and Women) are pro divisions. 2011 purse is yet to be determined...

The Pro K-1 Race qualifies ICF paddlers for the USACK Marathon National Ranking.

Fun Race

Inexperienced paddlers, families, and youth can give racing a try in the two mile looped Fluid Fun Fun Race.

Half Marathon

~7 mile loop race for those in-betweeners! The Half Marathon is perfect for those with some paddling experience who want more of a challenge than the Fun Race but not quite the challenge of the Marathon.

Youth Pond Race

Short races for youth (12 and under) on the pond by the Brown Barn! No experience is needed. Kayaks and life jackets will be provided for children to race in 4 separate age groups: 11-12 yrs, 9-10 yrs, 7-8 yrs, 5-6 yrs. Ribbons and toys for all children! Medals for the top three in each age group.

Duathlon

Contestants will first complete a 3 mile (approximately) trail run through St. Pat's wooded trails, then finish with a 2 mile looped canoe/kayak race.
