South Bend, IN race--the day before Michiana Paddlefest! This race does not include paddling, but has 7 run/walk events starting at the College Football Hall of Fame and finishing at the Notre Dame football stadium.
The Des Plaines River Canoe Marathon is the largest and longest down river canoe event in Illinois. It is also the oldest continual canoe race in the United States. This event brings people from all over the United States and abroad to paddle down the Des Plaines River. The Des Plaines River Canoe Marathon is an event built around the family.
The race is 19½ miles on the beautiful and historic Des Plaines River. There are 24 classes to accommodate people of all ages and levels.

Elkhart's Great Race A Sports Festival in Elkhart, IN from May 24-27, 2002. The Great Race includes 25 different racing events, including a 13 mile canoe/kayak race.
